Seagate Serial ATA (SATA) hard drives...
Serial ATA drives (with 150 MB/sec data transfer rate) are slightly faster than IDE drives (with 133 MB/sec transfer rate), but may have some impracticality. Not all PCs have SATA, and many relatively inexpensive repair techniques that have been developed for IDE are not as readily performed on SATA drives.
SATA drives come more to the fore with servers, or when a user desires a RAID array.
